Aéroscripophile |
|

Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis |
|
The Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis (AJBS), nammed after its founder (1896-1967), rebuilds and puts on display, in flight or on ground, some aircraft now belonging to the world heritage of flying machines.
AJBS is located on the Cerny-La Ferté Alais airfield, some 30 miles south of Paris. Besides the fact that this is a museum with some venerable flying machines, a large part of the aircraft are maintained to flying conditions and are frequently displayed in airshows all over France during the flying season.
The Amicale is most well-known for its yearly airshow (always during Whit Sunday week-end), where dozens of aircraft, from all ages and all origins, and thousands of people (from all ages and all origins too !) are gathered.

|
The Museum of the Air and the Space of Le Bourget is indisputably the oldest aeronautical museum of the world, one of best equipped by the extent and quality with its collection devoted to ballooning, aviation and space; one of vastest by the size of its halls of exposure, its reserves and its workshops of restoration. Today the 19.595 objects and documents carried to the inventory are as many testimonys on the great adventure than constitutes the conquest of the third dimension. The technical objects and the models make it possible to evaluate the width of the way traversed since the projects of Léonard de Vinci until the most recent developments of the space techniques.
