N°71 Eagle Squadron 1940-1942 - Hurricane & Spitfire

The first volume of this new series deals with No 71 Squadron, the very first of the famous "Eagle" squadrons reactivated during the late phase of the BoB to gather together American volunteer fighter pilots who wanted to fight alongside British pilots. In September 1942, nine months after USA had entered the war, this unit transferred to the USAAF to become the 334th FS of the new 4th FG.

This volume which spans over this two year period was written by Phil Listemann, a renowned French specialist of the RAF. It comes with numerous appendices and tables listing the daily operational sorties, all claims (confirmed and probable) and the complete roster (with some detailed biographies). This volume contains numerous photographs, colour profiles and maps.
