The A319, a shortened fuselage version of 4 meters of the popular A320, flew for the first time on August 25 1995 from Hamburg and it entered service with Swissair in April 1996. It is one of the smaller members of Airbus' highly successful single aisle airliner family currently with 1045 units in service.
